Richard L. Schechtman, DDS
Meet Dr. Schechtman
A smile is a true expression of inner beauty and joy, and reflects confidence in connecting with others; it is one of the most important ways we communicate with those around us. It is a pleasure and privilege to contribute to my patients’ lives by giving them the gift of an amazing smile. I am most passionate about providing the highest caliber of orthodontic care possible with gentleness and integrity. It is my pleasure to be in a position of service to others, enhancing both their beauty and their health.
I am very excited about having the best team ever in all my years of practice! My staff is experienced and highly qualified in each of their respective areas, from our Certified Dental Assistants to our insurance specialists. Our team is a positive, upbeat group of professionals who enjoy bringing their best to our patients every day.

In the Community
I was the first orthodontist in Westchester County to offer free, life-changing orthodontic care to children from low income families through Smiles Change Lives, a national charity. I continue to provide care to patients from Smiles Change Lives throughout the year, as I believe that all children should have the confidence that comes with a beautiful smile. I have also been involved with raising money for Support Connection, a breast cancer support group. I encourage our patients to participate in community service activites, and recognize their contributions on our “Kids Change the World” display board.
Outside the Office
A Forest Hills NY native, I have called Golden's Bridge home for over 20 years. I have two extraordinary daughters, one in high school, the other finishing college. I also have a yellow lab named Jazzy. Outside Orthodontics, my passions include; spending time with family and friends and music. Some weekends, I can be found playing keyboards with my band Weekend Update at local venues in Westchester. I also enjoy photography, hiking and exercising.
